Frequently Asked Questions
What is The MuT?
The MuT is a specialty tool designed to address many tasks within the sheet metal industry. As additional requirements were gathered from the industry, the design prototypes were modified to address more and more functions. The result is a multitool that performs many tasks of other tools while also performing many tasks that had no solution – yet.
What makes The MuT better than the tool I modified for this?
The MuT is purpose built to accomplish, and excel, at each task within it’s design. This includes size, shape, materials, weight, and manufacturing techniques. It’s better at the task, more reliable, and can do a lot more, faster. It’s the reason that the ‘Spork’ never really got popular.
What is the warranty on The MuT?
We stand behind The MuT completely with a 4 year warranty against breakage or defects – when used within normal job parameters.
How do you know it saves 30% of my time?
Throughout the prototyping stage and subsequent industry usage, 30% was the average time saved. This time will vary substantially depending on what tasks are being performed and how often The MuT is used in those tasks. The variance of time saved was between 10% and 60%.
This means that your average technician at $30/hr and 10% time savings will have covered the cost of The MuT in about 2 weeks (working 40 hours/week).
What is this DiG program I’m hearing about?
The DiG Program is an awards program that provides discounts for purchase and rewards for those that referred them. Please see the DiG Program page for additional info.
I have a suggestion on a feature improvement. How do I submit that to you?
Please reach out to any contact you have at our company. Alternatively, you can reach out via the contact us page and we will get back to you. We welcome your input and want to make sure The MuT is almost perfect for you.
I lost a piece off The MuT and I need to replace it. What do I do?
Please reach out to us (direct or through the contact us page) and we’ll work with you to resolve the issue. Please note that lost screws are easily replaced without contacting our team. Everything uses a variation of M3 screws except for the grub screw on the circle tool (which is M6x12mm).
How much weight can I pry with The MuT?
The MuT body has been designed and built to handle 1360 Kg (3000 lbs) when prying or lifting. Other components of The MuT will not handle this weight.
What industries can use The MuT?
Originally designed for HVAC technicians, it has expanded to most industries that work with sheet metal or products made from sheet metal.
I’m not in Canada. Can I still buy The MuT?
The MuT is setup for Canadian tax codes and market requirements. We are considering other markets as demand builds and regulations permit. Please reach out to us on the contact us page for further information and future expansion plans. Any warranty issues will only be serviced inside a supported region.
How do I join the affiliate program?
The affiliate program is part of the DiG Program. As an affiliate you are not required to buy The MuT in order to get your code. All other details of the DiG Program remain the same (payment, expiry terms, payment tiers, etc). Please see the “Affiliate” page for more details and to apply.
What is the term for the money back guarantee?
The money back gaurantee expires after 30 days from purchase.
What gauge of sheet metal is The MuT designed to work with?
The MuT teeth will penetrate regular sheet metal, which is 20 gauge or lighter. All other functions will work on any gauge. It won’t penetrate the side of a bank vault and if you try it, the warranty is void.
How fast is shipping? Can I use my own shipping account?
The MuT uses 5 day shipping service within most places in Canada. Of course it’ll take longer if a bush plane and dog sled is required to get it to you. You can use your own shipping service if you prefer.
Can my business logo or message by engraved onto The MuT?
Absolutely! With small orders, there will be an extra fee and time required for this service. With larger orders, engraving can be done as well as special handle colours or materials. Please contact us for further info on this.
